The Panasonic Lumix G80, or G85 as it’s known in North America, is a mid-range mirrorless camera that’s based on the Micro Four Thirds standard. It replaces the Lumix G7 and is positioned at a slightly higher level to the GX80/ GX85. The G80 / G85 shares the same 16 Megapixel sensor of the GX80 / GX85 which lacks a low pass filter and supports both 1080 and 4k video, the latter exploited in several photo-extraction modes. The built-in IS has been upgraded to five stops, the body is now weather-sealed, the viewfinder enlarged, while a new electronic first curtain shutter option minimises shutter shock. Find out why it’s one of the best cameras around at its price point in my in-depth Lumix G80 / G85 review!
